Frequently Asked Questions

  • The scope of our work includes restructuring damaged areas of the belt, matching, as far as possible, the condition of the rest of the belt fabric, as well as cleaning it of any contamination.
    However, it is the client's responsibility to be aware of other variables that may limit the belt's lifespan, such as permeability, thickness, surface friction, and, in general, the maximum usage that their experience suggests they can maintain their belt in operation.
    At this point, we will provide suggestions, based on our experience, regarding when a belt presents a latent risk in any of these variables;
    However, we are not familiar with the operating conditions of your machines, nor with the sensitivity of the materials you produce.
    For this reason, we have developed an additional service of specialized measurements of the critical values that can directly affect the quality of the forming fabric.

  • It's completely different for each specific case.
    The main variables are: the type of filament in the belt, the amount of wear, the depth of penetration of the laminations, the color of the produced material, and the cleanliness of the production processes, among others. Perhaps the factor that can most complicate and prolong belt repair is the frequent use of a spatula and dry ice in the lamination cleaning machine.

    1.     When there is worn along the entire length, either in front or behind (the most frequent) of the band.

    2.     When the belt has undergone elongation or shrinkage along its entire length. (Minor deformations can be corrected)

    3.     When the amount of damage is so extensive that it is not profitable for either the client or us to perform the service. This is primarily due to the excessive use of dry ice or a spatula.

    4. When the entire surface of the belt has suffered some type of friction, generating roughness.

  • When attempting to refurbish a belt, it is crucial to consider the following aspects:
    The belt user knows the belt's lifespan under ideal conditions, meaning when the belt has not suffered any damage beyond the natural wear and tear caused by the machine.
    Therefore, refurbishing a belt nearing the end of this cycle is not recommended.
    Conversely, it is recommended to refurbish a belt that has sustained damage such as dripping, spatula damage, tears, bends, dry ice damage, or general contamination, and is still within its reasonable lifespan.
